The Latin American medical device technology market is expected to reach 87 billion dollars by 2031. However, how are medical device inventories managed? How do medical clinics record maintenance and servicing records in Latin America?
Enter Tinc.
Tinc provides advanced software for health maintenance management, designed to streamline operations in hospitals, clinics, and biomedical companies. Their CMMS software ensures that medical equipment is consistently reliable, available, and cost-effective, addressing the crucial needs of healthcare facilities across the region.
Tinc’s Inception
Luis Fernandez, co-founder of Tinc, journey towards launching Tinc began with his first-hand experiences working in healthcare. His initial role involved delivering medical equipment to hospitals and managing the inventories of these devices. This work exposed him to the significant challenges hospitals face in keeping accurate inventories, particularly in large public institutions. Fernandez noticed a glaring lack of standardized procedures for managing medical equipment, which often resulted in data inaccuracies.
Highlighting the need for a more simplified system.
“I co-founded Tinc based on my hands-on experiences in the healthcare field ”, Luis Fernandez told VC Mexico. After graduating, I worked on a project for a company where I had to deliver medical equipment to hospitals and maintain an inventory of these devices. This experience revealed the challenges of managing medical equipment inventories accurately, especially in large public hospitals. The lack of standardized procedures and the frequent inaccuracies in data collection led me to develop a more efficient system. I was also motivated by the need for better clinical engineering practices and the realization during the H1N1 and COVID-19 pandemics that the healthcare system lacked reliable data on medical equipment availability.”
