In 2017, Cultura Colectiva, raised a series A funding round marking a significant milestone as one of the first startups in Mexico to secure a Series A funding round. Luis Enriquez, co-founder of Cultura Colectiva, a prominent digital media platform in Latin America, rapidly gained traction with its engaging content, attracting over 40 million views per month. The platform's popularity extended across social media, amassing a follower base of more than 45 million.
Cultura Colectiva’s Series A investment round was a signal of a transformative shift in the entrepreneurial ecosystem of Mexico, highlighting the growing interest from investors in Mexico's startup ecosystem.
As Cultura Colectiva began to grow and achieve success, Luis frequently received calls from new entrepreneurs seeking angel investments. Recognizing the need for a diversified approach to angel investing and aware of the limitations posed by individual selection bias and financial capacity, Luis was inspired to assemble a group of successful entrepreneurs from the region. Together, they established Bridge Latam, a founder-led venture capital fund.
Enter Bridge Latam.
After running my own startup for over nine years and receiving numerous calls from new entrepreneurs seeking angel checks, I realized the limitations of individual angel investing due to selection bias and diversification challenges. Understanding this I spoke with one of my friends from University, Eduardo Paulsen (Co - CEO and founder of Ben and Frank) and asked if he was interested in launching a syndicate, together we amazed a tier one team of entrepreneurs in the region including Daniel Vogel (CEO and founder of Bitso) and Federico Ranero (COO of Kavak), fast forward a few years and we raised Fund 1 of Bridge Latam - Luis Enriquez, Operating Partner Bridge Latam
